Uhmmmmmm...he got fat!

I was thinking the same thing. You look at his Azbilliards profile picture and he's this skinny looking kid in a goofy shirt. He's gotten pretty big over the years. I was really suprised

I'm sure he's not happy about it, although he doesn't look unhappy in any of the pics.

He doesn't look unhappy in any of the pictures. I'm sure that it's hurt his self esteem a little though. At least it would me. I wish him the best though. I've heard he's a great player and can put a whole string of racks together.

I heard last night that Danny has been looking for action and when he tells people who he is, they think he is crazy and play him. No one believes that he is really Danny Basavich.

Bigger...

I also am (?concerned/ shocked?) with the size change Dan has undergone recently.

I hope he is able to see a Dr. because his weight gain could be caused by a very serious health condition. Not cheeseburgers, BTW...

You FT players have health insurance, right?!

Pretty odd response from someone named "Piglit". LOL Seriously, you're right piglit, this could be a medical problem and he should see a Dr. I wonder what the time span was for him to transform from the thin Danny to the heavy Danny?

Hi Rickw,

There is a picture here of Danny (Kid Delicious) Basavich as the 2001 Classic Billiards Joss Tournament winner next to Alain Martel (runner up), Jackie Vaccaro (room owner) and a local player who won the photo opportunity in an auction. It shows him to be about two hundred pounds. When I saw him in Vegas this year, he'd grown to an estimated two seventy five, maybe plus. If you ask Danny, he says "thats why they call me Delish". Like Piglet, we too are worried about Danny. Although he has only been back once, he became a Classic Billiards favorite. When I saw him in Philly at the CCC, he was traveling with his father, girl friend and a few more pounds.

To Piglet,

As a senior citizen, I'm not up with the latest street talk. What is BTW?

I met Danny a/k/a Kid Delicious about 2 years ago at a Joss Tour event in Pennsylvania. The first thing you notice is his sparkling eyes accompanied by a very warm smile. He's a veteran when it comes to matching up and never seems to have trouble getting a game, no matter what part of the country he is traveling in.

One of Danny's best personality traits is he is a good listener. When you talk to him, he is actually listening to you very intently and waits for you to finish your thoughts. Some pool players won't even give you the time of day, much less take time to have a back-and-forth conversation.

Kid Delicious is one straight-shooting young gun, a force to be reckoned with in any event, and currently he is ranked number two on the Joss Tour points list. It has been whispered in some circles that he is one of the most money-making road players, always finding a way to match up. Whether he wins or loses, he shoots pool with grace and style, and I think we are going to be hearing a lot more about this young kid from New Jersey down the road.

Danny Basavich

Hey Manlyshot,

He got to you too! I could not have said any of your post better. Danny is one great guy / player.

I first met Danny in 1995 or 1996. He was a very large teenager. When I saw the picture of him, 'thinner', a few years later, I was as shocked as all of you are now to see him big. He actually went from being large to being thin to being larger. I also hope that he has seen or will see a Dr. and that all is well with him.
