Danny D's book The Road player.

this book is increadable! There isnt enough positive things to say about it. It not only gives you a look into the past of pool and its legends, it keeps you interested the entire way through...i would recommend this book for anyone who loves pool.

Has anyone read this book? And or would you recommend it?

He had a book on a CD out, (you had to read it on the computer, not a talking book) called "You bet your life" Is that the same one you are talking about? I didn't know it was in print. Either way, not bad if you are a pool player or know Danny but would not keep the interest of the average person. It ultimately paints him as more of a tragic figure.

The book he has out is called road player I think. I tried to order it this month from accu-stats, it is in their catalog, but they said there was a problem at the printer. They are expecting it very soon. I will check back next month when I call for the video of the month club. If you guys aren't signed up for that you are missing out. Accu-stats is great to deal with.

Probably the same one that was out on CD with a different name.

I read the whole book in my flight back from Louisville. 6 hours. It is an easy read with some interesting stories. However it doesnt go deep into the game and psychology that surrounds it. It basically is I was a good athlete. I beat up this guy. I won this match. I beat up this guy. I was broke. I made a great score and I beat up this other guy.

One wishes Danny could have told a more in depth story. I think he has it in him. He just needs help from a experienced writer.

A friend of mine bought a copy of the book for me while at the DCC. I enjoyed reading it and would recommend it.

I'm reading it now and you got it right. For a better read try "Playing off the rail".
