After weeks of haggling the issues an agreement has been reached with the top pool players associations to combine their efforts. It will be called the PPA,Pool Players Association.
The U.S. will be divided into the 4 time zones. Weekly local qualifier tournaments will be held nationally. These will culminate into a final 64 players. There will be a list of major tournaments as in golf.
Each Jan 1st the tour will begin. Qualifying for the pro circuit will be just as in golf. All tournaments will be played in this new format. Regulation play days 1 & 2 with losses being eliminations. 3rd day of play the top 8 players will play a round robin to determine their finish. Only players getting to play on the 3rd and 4th day receive prize money.
Every tournament played earns the player points and finishes earn points.The top 8 point winners play a player of the year tournament. In a Round Robin format.
It was determined that for this new endeavor to work everyone is going to have to sacrifice a little bit. Pro players will earn extra money for clinics to help the young up and coming players.
More emphasis will be placed on Junior Pool the lifeblood and future of pool.
Games played will be 14.1 Continuous, One Pocket and Bank Pool.
Records of these games will be advertised by all sponsors along with their equipment to get it's importance into the publics eye.
The announcers selected for all the major tournaments were Billy Crystal, Chevy Chase and Robin Williams.
Players will be guests on the talk show circuit as they get into their cities to promote the game.
The Olympic Committee will have no reason to not accept pool into their venue once the popularity has increased.
When the players were polled they agreed it was time to give something back to the game.
