Congratulations to both Dave and Rico as they were chosen to fill the spots vacated by Buddy and King James.
This is an incredible break for both these fine players and you can bet they are very well aware of how important this can be for them.
At the Corpus Christi Q, Dave was playing like I haven't seen in many, many Moons. He had the look in his eye and was in "dead focus". His first loss was to James Walden and dthere was not a lot Dave could have done about it as James played near perfectly. They are good friends and you could tell that Dave was appreciative of just how well James had played.
His 2nd loss was to Rapheal Martinez and again Dave was playing like a man ona mission. Leading 6-3, Dave came up dry on the break, and here comes Rapheal with a march that was nothing less than perfect. Dave got one shot in the next 6 games and he was buried behind two balls.
