I definately recommend this DVD set. Seeing Dave set the speed record was worth the price alone. I think it was 10 racks he ran in 10 minutes(not without missing). He broke and shot all 15 balls in on 2 valley barbox tables set 14 ft apart. Just amazing. This guy is in shape!

The other dvd shows dave explaing some fundamentals of the game. Not ground breaking stuff but still good material.

Anyone else check out this DVD?
 
Since when did speed pool= real every pool (eight, nine, one & 14:1)?
When was the last time you walked into a pool hall and saw a set up time clock with shooters running around trying to beat the clock?

I laugh everytime I see people bring up speed pool like it's a regular game. This is no slam to you Chris. Sure Dave is an accomplished player but when is the last time he played in a major tourny? Where do you think he would have finished in this years U.S. Open? I just don't think it's real pool. Some people can play with a fast tempo others can't.

On the flip side we could come up with "Turtle Pool." Where you enter your stance a wait for the cue to shoot the ball. The cue to shoot would be a chime which would come anywhere from 30 seconds to 3 minutes after you have been set in your shooting stance. The chime is totally random of course, and failling to hit the ball 3 seconds after the chime ends your run.

Some people cannot shoot with a slow tempo. I just don't understand how this is real pool, it's more of a sideshow (like the carnival freaks.) Next they'll have the behind the back, one handed, one eye patch, broom stick pool championship!!!
 
Well, it is a side show. He appeared with DR. cue rossman in the video and did some trick shots with him. I think Dave is more of a trick shot/exhibishionist and highly talented in my opinion.
 
Just had to ask a quick question, how much more money does Dave Pearson make than the last tournament winner?

Watching speed pool gets boring pretty quick. Sure I'll hand it to Dave for starting a new fade, he's a real entrepreneur. But I just dont get why the pool playing public likes it so. It's like watching roundy-round IMO (ie. Check out link if you don’t know what roundy-round is) http://www.bustedtees.com/shirts/boringnascar

I'd much rather watch regular matches with great players controlling whitey. Also I would have to say I'd rather watch Dave doing trickshots than the speed pool shtick. The speed pool sideshows are like the bearded lady to me...yeah that's different...lets move on.
