Here is a John Davis blank I had on custom order. I just received these pictures from Martin of SuperiorCues.com yesterday. I had a blank with the same veneer combination on layaway from Martin two years ago. I decided to hold off after deciding the birdseye wasn’t figured enough. I finally pulled the trigger and custom ordered a blank with the same veneer combination but with a more figured forearm. The blank was finished ahead of schedule.
It will be finished with both modern and traditional elements. It will have an ivory Hoppe ring, scalloped ivory notched diamonds and ivory barbells with veneer stitches in the butt, and four scalloped ivory notched diamonds and dots in the points. Joint will be an Elforyn half-joint and 3/8x10 wide-shank pin with ivory veneer-stitched ringwork. I went with an Elforyn join over ivory because of the Wisconsin weather. Wrap is an ultra-select elephant ear from SuperiorCues.
