Daytona Joe, Rest In Peace My Friend

Very sad news Eydie. Thankyou very much for letting everyone know.

Thankyou also for introducing us at the Windy City Open last year. He was clearly one of the good guys and will surely be missed.

My heart

got a sinking feeling when I saw this thread. Joe was definately one of the ones. He could always be counted on to lift you up a little or make you smile with his posts. I will miss him, and I never did get to meet him in person.

I just saw this thread. For Joe's wife, daughter and granddaughter, my condolences. For your comfort and memories, I want to share my experience with him. I never met Joe but exchanged several emails with him. We had discussed a butterfly cue I was building and had talked about my building him one with a little different specs. He was very knowledgable, concise, knew what he wanted without going overboard, and a straight shooter. And through all the words he came across as a very good guy --- one you would like to sit down and talk to --- didn't need to be pool. Just an all around good guy - one you would like to call your friend.

Thank you to everyone that has posted here and on the thread I started last week. Its been a hard week for us all but we know that Joe is in a better place.
Eydie thank you so very much for all your kindness. You have no idea what it means to me. I promise to keep in touch with you.
Joe was a great person to alot of people. And I know from what everyone has posted on here how much he was liked.
Pool was one of his favorite things to do. His other favorites were golfing and riding his harley with our son in law..
Again thank you to everyone for all your kindness..
We miss him so much..
Thank you
Norma

I just wanted to take a minute to thank so many people who called, emailed, sent IM's, PM's and text messages not only to the family, but directly to me as well. I have forwarded all of these messages that were sent to me, to Norma and Callie so that they can see them as well.

As Blackjack said in one of his posts, this is a huge loss to not only his family but to the Windy City Open family as well. We are all completely devistated by his passing, and it will take some time to get the wco back on track.
