Someone said the 9-ball counts for the most points, I suspect that made the difference.

I sure hope that's not right. Banks has more players and is a more skillful game than 9-ball (try to deny that all you want but you can't shit in a ball in banks). All three tournaments should count for the exact same amount.

I put this in another thread. First place for each division is 120 points. Second is 100, and I believe third is 80. After that, the points begin to decrease significantly. Just like the cash in these tournaments, the points are very top heavy.

Essentially, Shane's first and second are worth 220 points. Alex's 1st, 4th and 9th weren't worth as much because after third place, the points go down too much. I would bet if Alex got 3rd instead of 4th, or 5th instead of 9th, he would have won.

He got 3rd in the one-pocket, not 4th. Well, he tied for 3rd with Shannon Daulton. Either way, it's listed as a 3rd.

Thanks. Where did you find the information about the points?

Right, And Shane and Alex both played great but Shane won fair and square.
Congrats to Shane on a great accomplishment. It is pretty amazing that
he does not even claim to be a 1 pckt player but yet bested a field of the best 1 pckt players in the world . As Rogan would say....How strong is that?

I been to the derby every year since I started playing. I just paid attention and asked questions. I figured out how the points work a little bit at a time.

As far as Alex getting 3rd, the points are split just like the money. So if you tie for 3/4, they add the points up and split them.

The all-around is as fair as the payouts for the tournament are. Sometimes people play well and don't get it. Last year, Scott Frost was one missed ball away from winning instead of Efren. The year before, Hennessee was top ten in all three events and lost it to Brumback by 1 point. The only way to guarantee the all-around is to win all three events. As no one has been able to do that, no one can complain IMO.

i still dont see it do you have a link to the points system? it should be equal points for all games if it is not..its master of the table not 50% master 9 baller 25% master 1p and 50% master banker
