DCC cues

I just returned from the Derby with some not so great news for the pool community. I was not staying at the Execeutive West and was about 15 minutes away. On Monday night/ Tuesday morning after arriving to our hotel at 3am, our room had been accessed and all of our things were stolen, the room looked like a tornado hit it. 7 cues, 2 laptops, Logitech wireless optical mouse, one external hard drive one Canon Rebel XTi camera with extra Tamron 28-300 lens and 2 iPods and headphones. There were 5 Tim prince cues stolen, 3 high end pointed and 2 Sneaky Petes, 1 Frey SP Bacote with ivory butt cap and a Bludworth SP without joint collars, 1 Instroke 3x7 black and maroon, 1 J&J 3x5(Pro Series style) and 1 3x6 Porper. This was my first trip to the Derby and needless to say not a pleasing one. I ask that everyone please keep their eyes and ears open on these style cues and contact me if anyone comes across them. As well as here, you can also reach me by cell at 321-438-3605. Please, if anyone has information regarding this event or these cues, contact me. Thank you for reading.

Bad News

Sorry you got ripped off. Nobody deserves that. If you have pics, post them. If the cues were never photographed, contact the cuemaker for a description. (He may have pics or a build sheet) I have seen cues recovered YEARS later because the cuemaker remembered his work when it was in for a repair. A police report is essential too. Circulate the info with local pawn shops. The hotel staff can check phone listings and supply you with numbers. Lastly, contact the DCC venders. There may even be a vender list with contact info available on the web site. Dealers like Joe Salazar and Bill Grassley are honorable people and will likely return your cue if it was traded/sold to them. Good luck; don't give up.

Sorry for your loss. It does surprise me how people continue to take way more with them then they really should. Everyone knows while attending a big tournament cues are always stolen. Hotel rooms are always busted into. I always keep my cues on me at all times. No matter how many I have brought with me. It's not your fault that it happened but people need to smarten up and not give the chance for this to happen.

sorry to hear about your loss. There are only 2 billiards shops in. Louisville. I work at Bottom English billiards and will keep an eye out for them and you can call Bryan Roberts at Rack 66 and if someone tries to sell them on town we will know. Again sorry about your experiece but I will do whatever I can to help.

It really does make me sick.. The low life people that steal from others. You know I used to say they will get what they deserve but in the end do they really? I've known of people stealing and they just go on like nothing ever happened and it seems no bad ever comes to them. As always the stuff never turns up and it's just a mystery as to where it went. I'm sure all that stuff went to the nearest pawn shop or they dealt if off to people they know for $20 or $40.. I once had someone kick my door in while I was at home. Middle of the day and I was just waking up. This was at my old apartment. I walk out to see what the noise was and here's this mofo standing in the door, wearing gloves and all.. I quickly got a hold of the butt of my cue and he took off running. Never did catch him. I think he had a car waiting on the next street over for him because he just vanished. Middle of the damn day... I'm running around like a crazy person in my boxers with the butt of a cue asking people if they saw anyone run this way. These kind of people make me freakin sick. And as I said the worst part of it is it seems no bad ever comes back on them... Wish you the best in finding your stuff.

One more thing.. I really wonder at times about these hotel deals.. Have some crooked employees that check you in, See all that you take into the room, Watch for you to leave and then call up some people to come and do the deal.. It's not like it's out of the question. When I stay in a room I will not even let the damn cleanin ladies come in my room. Seriously. All they would get is my clothes anyway because as I said anything of value always stays on me at all times. I also never take anything with me that I will miss if someone does get me outside the room. It's just too risky to take anything of value with you anymore.

I'm local as well and will keep my eyes peeled for anything that comes my way. Chances are good that it was someone from out of town.

if anyone has or will have any business in this city, i do not recomend this hotel. the end doors do not close tightly and anyone can enter from off the street.
