Mike was a standup guy. I knew Mike for about 15 years, he really was a great player and will be missed. On a positive note I had never seen Mike so happy until he had his children. Mike you will be missed I'm sure your hitting them as good as ever up there with the big man!! R.I.P Mike Armstrong

I just heard about this a few days ago myself. I first met Mike when I started playing pool again in '04 at the Royal. I've played him a couple of times in the years since and donated a bit to him

It was funny how he won the De state 9ball.... He played Ryan Mcreesh (sp) in the semi finals & it was hill hill and Ryan runs out to an easy 9 ball & over hits it, goes 2 rails to scratch in the corner giving Mike the win. Then Mike plays Josh Brothers in the finals & Josh didn't put one of his games up:boring2: & it went hill hill. Mike WINS:grin:

That used to be a great tournament there at pockets. The money was always good and there was always a pretty tough field there. I won it the last year they had it 2005. Mike was there cheering for me the whole time. Man I'm going to miss him!!

I'f I'm not mistaken... didn't Mike used to run that tourney?
