Dealing with neighboring tables in tournament

Playing pool in competitions, neighboring tables can be distracting. Especially if its a lively player. I tried headphones, ignoring them and even telling them to chill out. Do you prefer to let the neighboring table to shoot first or would you rather wait to shoot second?
