i need a 9ft table i can afford. i know diamonds and brusnwicks and olhausens are at the top. i am looking online and see black pearls by imperial and addisons by cl bailey that i can afford. budget is a major concern. do any mechanics out there work on these tables? used is not an option for me. these tables are available to me at this time. I dont have any info about their quality except for what salespeople tell me. I need a mechanics opinion.help please.

Buy a used Gold Crown or similiar. You should be able to find one cheaper than a new crappy home model table.

I`ave seen a lot of Brunswick Medalist for around 500 to 800,also a goos solid table.

Used is not an option for you? It's a real rarity when you'll hear anyone recommend buying a NEW table. It's always used GC or Pro Am, I'm not sure sure why.

My guess is people will say, if you have to get a new table you should get a new Pro Am. I've never played on one, but I hear they are the pinnacle of what a pool table can be.

I don't know what people will recommend when used is not an option. This will be interesting to see what people will say. Because it's almost like people talk about GC/Pro Am so much, not many other tables get lip service. I was going to get a Diamond table, but the delivery/set up cost was too much for me. It tagged on almost an extra 1000 dollars.

As you can see in my sig what I did end up with. I looked up the pool table you are looking into to get a price range. It appeared to be about 2400, I know there are Ohlausens in that range, and lower because I was pricing them as I just bought my table recently. Check the Olhausen L/V series, i know the Springfield is within that range, probably lower. I have the Belmont in 7 foot, which is about the same price (I don't know how much a 9 foot would be).

I just did an Imperial today - replaced the rubber that had gone bad. The table was only 2 years old, so take that for what it's worth.

New inexpensive tables, I like Spencer Marstons. They are a decent quality imported table that seem to be pretty well built.

decent inexpensive table? still unsure!

probably need to clarify things. i sell billiard supplies for a living. also do some cue repairs. got my own storefront. been doing it for 9 years. i can buy some brands like cl bailey or imperial at cost. so its what im thinking i can afford. tried to buy diamond, olhausen, brunswick but i dont have room to inventory in my small 20x35 foot shop. so those guys just laughed at me when i asked. hard to find 9ft table used that isnt junk already. hard to find reasonable priced movers here as well. factories have better delivery rates.can see buying a 16 old olhausen for $1600 and have to deliver it 100 miles at a huge cost. not familiar with spencer martsen tables. never saw one for real. been looking at cl baileys addison online. never saw or played on one though. thanks for your input and feel free to add with anything else u know. trying to get something bought by end of May at the latest. 9ft

Maybe re consider used vs new! Mark and Glen can help you to make a table better than a brand new table! It is all in what you want (IMO). I would not reccomend any new table (Even if I could afford a GC5... Mark would do my rails/cushions, Period, The END). Buy a Gold Crown or Maybe consider a Gandy BIG "G" and get a Super Mechanic! Best of luck!

What do you want the table for? A display model to show customer who want to buy a table from you? Something to bang balls on yourself while you're in the shop? Do you want the best playing table for your budget, or just a table? What is your budget including the move? What area are you in, and what do you consider a huge cost to move a table 100 miles? Need more details about your situation to be able to make the best recommendation.

By the way...a couple words of advice...

1) If you're looking to retail tables, you should consider a space that would allow you to retail tables.

2) If you're looking to get help/advice from this forum, you may want to consider not calling an established, respected forum member an idiot in only your 9th post. You're only going to get the respect you give around here.

Getting to your original question. Addison much better than imperial at least it used to be. ClB did recently change from brazilian to chinese slate. Hope that helps

anytime i ask other peoples advice on an unfamiliar subject i dont need to be called dumb. ignorant of the facts perhaps but dumb insinuates stupidity. i dont need to be insulted for that. the table serves two purposes. one for customer to demo cues they might be interested in buying. i cant see having to pay for a cue without seeing how it feels. thats the way I do business. the second is for my own practice table. trying to improve. need to upgrade from what ive had. selling tables is not a priority. I dont have floorspace. but if you want one I will have it shipped to your home. some companies will give me dealer pricing as a courtesy others do not. budget around $1500 delivered. dont need it set up. dont need cloth, balls, etc....
