Deciding on a pool table, Help

I used to have a pool table that was an olhausen and moved and it stayed with the house so I am looking for a new one. I have been looking at AMF Renaissance, Connelly, and Brunswick. I want a furniture style table (was considering GC IV). So has anyone had any experience with either a AMF Renaissance, Connelly Ultimate, or a high end brunswick? Thanks

Well, i just happen to sell Renaissance and AMF. Renassance table are built by Mr. Porter, and are really, to a point, hand carved. Each one is built 1 at a time and put together as they are build making them 1 of 1 kinds. Lead times can be as long as 4-6 months, but well worth the wait. High end Brunswicks are very nice, like the Royal Knight and Cromwell. Connelly's are very nice also. any one of the three would be well worth the money, but my 2 cents worth, i would do a Renaissance. If you would like, i can mail you a broucher on them, just PM your address to me.

P.S. Connelly and Renaissance are built in America, and i believe Renaissance has more options then connelly

I just recently bought a new Brunswick Gibson and absolutely love it. 9 ft, Simonis 860, double-shimmed pockets. I know I paid a premium price for it (coulda found a nice table a lot cheaper), but since it's in a very visible part of my home, I wanted a table that was both a high quality piece of furniture and an excellent playing table. Gibson is both. There may be some assembly and maintenance reasons why a Gold Crown might be better (such as leveling devices), but the quality of the Gibson is equal or better. I play on GC IV's in weekly tournaments, and I love them, but I don't think they play any better than a Gibson and a Gibson might be a better choice for one's home, depending on the decor. I've been leaning toward the Elizabeth Anne in mahogany for its simple and elegant design. The picture online that I have seen looks nothing like it after I saw it in person. My friend has a Paladin in Mahogany and it is a masterpiece.

Nice Table. I had a couple in mind if I went with brunswick and this was one of them. http://www.brunswickbilliards.com/roomsettings/windsor_tour.html

Way back in the day, there used to be a restaurant out in Orange County with 4 Connelly Ultimates in it, and those were some mighty nice tables (to play on) I don't know if they've brought they're style up any, but as far as play goes, they were amazing.

Some high points of an Ultimate

2" slate with a solid wood backer
6 rail bolts per rail
Artemis cushions

They are built like a tank, play eerily quite, and rolled very true (but, yo would need to find a mechanic that was very good, and very strong....those slates had to weigh in at over 500lbs a piece.)
