Decorative Cue Stick Arts Thread

With all the pool halls closing down I can imagine many one piece cues will be moving around.

Try to consider them as great ways to practice decorating a cue stick.

In the video I show how to create a cue stick that lights up without damaging the cue at all.

Why not laser and make lightsabers out of some cues? Use an old Falcon and make it the Millenium Falcon. Food for thought.

This is meant to be a series on intro to electronics.
Eventually I will go from simple LED circuits to integrated circuits, to sensors and recording data from sensors..

I will get more advanced or show new ways to incorporate circuits in all kinds of silly things or fun places.

Knowing how to use simple circuits also means making spy cameras, and hidden cameras.

I am torn between a silly Augmented Reality video for pool playing (virtual aiming system) or a less serious video about decorating.making a custom cue case.

I'll ask first, would you like me to link a really good series on soldering? I'm really into electronics and soldering. I do a lot of repair and video mods on retro game consoles. Let me know if you would like the link, I found it really helpful. There are just so many cool things you can do now with rapid prototyping pcbs being available to anyone now.

Ok, there's nothing billiard related, but it's a very good video on soldering. I don't really have any extra parts, other than resistors and such, shipping would be more than buying hundreds of them new on ebay.

do you have extra solder guns? those are expensive for bulk orders

No I don't, I only have the one soldering station. It's an 8586, includes an iron and hot air setup, about $60 but they are very good units, been using mine for about 3 years and it's works like new. They come with tips of all sizes and usually a few tools. A good soldering station makes all the difference in the world, that and flux. Lead free is way harder to work with, I'd use regular lead based. Unless you're working in it every day with no ventilation in a work like situation it's not going to cause harm. I basically modded friends consoles and repaired a few in order to pay for my setup.
