A question for all the deluxe Cuesmith lathe owners...I am setting up my new deluxe and I can't get the motor belt to keep from flipping over. Any suggestions on aligning the pulleys?
 
I have had this only once, and it turned out to be there was a slight defect in the belt....a slightly wider spot, that caused it to happen. I would recommend reaching out to Chris Hightower, he is the best at helping setup/diagnose issues with his lathes
 
Dave probably gave the correct information. If those belts get a slight twist or anything else wrong with them they do not run correctly. Over the past 20 years I have had more than one bad belt.
 
Shift the headstock to the left or right until it lines your smallest step up with the second smallest step on heads
