Made this cue for John up in Coos Bay from his specifications. The butt diameter is 1.300" and runs straight for 7.5" and then tapers down to the joint area where it blends into the standard taper for a smooth joint transition.
The butt is cut from a single piece of PH which incorporates the forearm and the full length core. The handle is made from Circassian (Turkish) walnut that
is usually found in high end shotgun stocks. Shaft is PH pro taper with G-10 ferrule and Samsara JB tip. Cues weighs 22 ounces and is 59" long. Maybe John will be kind enough to give us a review. In the mean time I took it to the local pool hall and had a few of the "pros" break some racks with it as I was curious as to how his design would work. It works so well that I named it a Denali Magnum Breaker. This is a real rack smasher. Notice on the top view the difference on the butt shape from a standard cue.

Denali mugnum breaker

Received feedaback from John on the "MAGNUM" breaker so here it is.

"Hi Bob,

I received my break cue yesterday and now have had ample chance to break
racks with it. Goodness that thing can deliver a blow! I don't think I
will ever break full speed with it but just as I was hoping I can really
get a pop exactly where I want without over stroking. Not to mention that
IMO the thing is very attractive. I see no reason why others wouldn't be
like minded to myself in spite of the propaganda out there pushing light
break cues. Good luck with the offering of the "Magnum" if that's what you
decide to do. I would be happy to testify as to why I find that
configuration pleasing. Anyway thanks again. I'm all set now! (for now)
