Just finished a second cue of PH and Mgurure for Art in Oxnard. He liked the
way the first one hit so he wanted another. The cue is plain but it sure does play well. The Mgurure handle sleeve is a rather unusual wood as it has a Janka rating of 4430 as compared to sugar maple's rating of 1450. Mgurure comes from Kenya and is prized to its use in musical instruments of the wind variety such as bagpipes and flutes. Once I had the handle section piece turned round and cored out to 7/8" it rang like a bell when struck. The purple heart is cut from a 1 piece billet that runs from the nose to the threaded butt cap. This makes for a very responsive cue. The tip is a Triangle and the ferrule is Mason Micarta.

Here is a feed back report on the above cue:

"Hi, Bob,

The new cue is very, very close to the first purpleheart cue - same sweet
resonance, same consistency. It's an outstanding cue.

Thanks again,

Art"
