Dennis Searing Cue: Should I Have It Wrapped? Will He Do The Work?

Voodoo Daddy said:
DO NOT wrap that cue, he made so very of those. He will re-wrap it if thats what you want. He gets a bad rap here from a few guys that are never satisfied but I know he will do it, trust Voodoo.

I don't know about the bad rap he gets, but I have heard alot of good stuff about the hit of his cues. There is also a guy near here that's on the pro tour, and He was showing me a cue that dennis made for him. It was just a classic looking veneered cue with steel joint, but was beautifully done. I would love to have It, because It was the exact style that I prefer. I would feel lucky to have such a cue.

I don't usually add wraps to anyone other makers cues either, unless already equiped with one. I try to have respect for others work, as I believe they should have the oppertunity to Do it, and It's not My place to change the design of another's cue. As already mentioned maybe I would do a production cue, or one of My own sneakies. There are even some production cues I don't feel good about making modifications to.

If It were My cue, even though I can do the wrap Myself, I would still ask him to do it first, as to keep the cue original to the maker. I have a couple of cues by another maker right now, that I won't even do a refinish on because I am waiting to take them to the maker to have them redone. Guess it's just some of the collector left in me.

Yep, I am lucky enough to get to watch him shoot every once and a while throughout the years, but not good enough, or fool enough to jump on him.:D. I was watching him break it in, and talking to him right after he got it. He let me check It out, and It was really nice. Then again I also like the veneer work you're doing now. Still Hoping one of these days I'll make it down your way to check them out. Like to see how they feel :) Does anyone up my way have one of yours yet that you know of? I'm sure they play great, would love to see one in person. Maybe one of these days when I get out of My latest slump, and can better afford It, I'll see If I can talk you into building me one. :D

Thanks Greg

Dave is good people. I'm getting ready to head to Tampa for the Florida Tour stop. I hope he is there. I have not seen him in a while.

Yeah, I have learned alot over the years just watching him. He shows back up in between matches sometimes. He has been teaching a couple of guys I know here some drills to help their game, but I have'nt seen him in a couple of weeks atleast. Then again I have'nt been out as much lately. When is the tampa event? They should be getting some pretty nasty weather about now. Anyway If I see him I ask for you, or maybe one of those guys will know If He's going.

It has a lot to do with him being a bad businessman and little to do with people never being satisfied, don't make excuses or try to switch the blame for something that is HIS problem.

Jimmy, your deal with him is just that. I dont make excuses for him nor switch the blame...just stating my veiws. Remember, doing business with some people is down right brutal...on both ends. We have no beef...just two guys onna forum with opinions.
