I have been informed that the WPA have sent press releases to all of their members stating that the WPA have not sanctioned the up coming DCC, therefore they do not want their members in playing in this event. Does anyone know anything about this? Would the WPA take action do you think against any of their members who do play?

I think this is just ridiculous, it would mean virtually no one being allowed to play in Kentucky!

Yes, especially since there are many non-sanctioned WPA events that WPA members are allowed to play in. Sometimes you have to wonder whether these people who have control are in it for the good of the game or not.

If this is true, the players making a living at pool will attend. Gambling, Gambling and some tournament play with a-lot of $$$$$$ up for grabs will bring in those "WPA players".....

I heard this too but I wouldn't worry about it, as pointed out there's too many $$$ there to keep the players away, I doubt the WPA would take any action anyway.

If a tournament doesnt conflict with their own events, and they ask players not to play, that pretty much tells you they are not in it for the good of the game. They may say they are, but their not. They should want any and every tournament to be as much of a success as possible.

Anyone want to guess at what WPA's motivation is here? Their timing seems most unusual here.
