The 5th stop on the Desert Classic Tour was held at Stingers in Phoenix. The event was 10ball on the barbox tables. Stingers has about 12 Diamond barbox tables that were all in pretty good shape. This tour uses a handicap system of ...

All the usual suspects showed up for this one, to include, Mitch Ellerman, Gus Briseno, Dennis Orender (actually is Tour Director), Nick DeLeon, all totalled there was 39 players. Play started at Noon Saturday and had some upsets right out of the gate. Scott Frost lost to the "Mailman" Chuck Evans by a score of 8 to 5 and had to work through the loser side of the bracket. Mitch Ellerman seemed to put things on cruise control with his massive break and fast/loose shooting style. Mitch cruised through to finish saturday in the Final 4 of the winner side along with Nick DeLeon, Larry Olson(B player), and Chuck "the Mailman" Evans. The 4 left standing on the one loss side were Scott Frost, Tres Kane, Pete Lohtka and myself.
Sunday started with Scott playing me and Tres paying Pete on the one loss side. I can't say much about Tres and Pete besides Tres winning. I had my hands full with Scott who was breaking waaaay better than I was. Soooo, Pete and I were out and got 7/8th. That's where I get a lil fuzzy on the positions because I decided to drive back to Tucson with my wife. I know the Finals came down to Scott and Nick, with Scott becoming the eventual winner.
So, long story short, Scott Frost wins. Nick Deleon takes 2nd.
The other top 6 were, in no particular order, Tres Kane, Chuck evans, Larry Olson and Mitch Ellerman.
If anybody knows how places 3 through 6 turned out, please fill in the blanks. I'm pretty sure Mitch got 3rd?
