Determining acceptable level of cushion response...??

I just bought a 25 year old Brunswick table that was original owners and they never changed anything on table . When I went to look at it I rolled balls at different angles and up and down and it was not real lively. Got it home and I put new Simonis 860 felt and K 55 cushions now I can shot the cue ball and make it on a five cushion shot with a some power but controlled. They say most cushions start to lose bounce after 20 years

I’ve heard 15 years for Artemis cushions. We have three tables that we replaced the Artemis cushions three years ago. There might be a slight difference between them and the other tables that have 20 year old Artemis cushions, but not much difference.
