Diamond 8 or GC pro 8

I currently have a GC pro 8 with 4.25 pockets and I'm wondering if the Diamond 8 will be as challenging??. I gamble on GC 9's at the pool hall and I can notice the difference when going from my pro 8 to the 9 footer. Will the difference be greater with the smaller Diamond??

Thanks.........TommyT

That would depend a lot on how your pockets are spec'd out, when comparing them to the Diamond ProAm 8ft. If they have the exact same pocket miters and down angles, as well as pocket opening, the Diamond is going to play harder in the corner pockets than your Brunswick will because of the deeper slate shelves in the Diamond corner pockets, but then again, I don't really recall any pro's missing the pocket by just a hair:D it could have been a 5" corner pocket and they still would have missed. So, the moral of the story is, practice is what makes the difference between playing on an 8ft....then switching to a 9ft table to gamble on. It's the stroke, not the poke....as SVB showed everyone....his game is just a good on a 7ft BB....as well as any 9ft'er, so it must be all that practice he puts in to get better...and not so much which size table he practices on...or what size the pockets are. In Sioux Falls, SD...he practices/plays on a Brunswick GC3 with 4 1/4" corner pockets and plays just as good there as on the Diamond 9ft ProAm with ProCut pockets sitting right next to it...because he shoots for the center of the pockets;)

The Diamond 8 (45x90) is in between an 8' (44x88) and a Pro 8 (46x92)

I highly doubt the difference would be noticeable if you have the same pocket dimensions especially since as Glen says the Diamond has a deeper slate which will play tighter.
