Going to recover my 1st smart table any thing to look out for, heard the rails stay together for recovering. Guess you would set all the feather strips 1st then flip over to finish up.
the hardest part of these tables is the stapling the corner pockets, make sure to remove the apron, the extra space will be helpful. if your going to cover more of these tables you should learn Glen's technique for gluing. The table was designed for this method and the spray glue techniques wont' do this table justice.
The rails can come apart, its just a lot of extra work to do so. Remove all the rail bolts, then lift the rails and aprons off still assembled. Easier if you have a helper but you can do it by yourself if you have to, just go slow. Then you can flip the rails over and remove the aprons and the pocket liners. You're right about setting the feather strips first, then flip over and finish the stapling.
Do you know if he has posted his gluing technique any where? Hopefully will be doing more.
