Diamond Cues Info Sought

I recently retipped and cleaned / reconditioned the shaft on a cue that had a logo I'd never seen before. The logo is a "D" within a diamond, here is a link to a picture of one of these cues on Proficient Billiards site: http://www.proficientbilliards.com/cues/Diamond/fancy/pages/Mvc-diamondcue026f_jpg_jpg.htm

Does anyone know anything about this brand? I'm curious.
I used to sell them years ago. They were not very expensive. Kind of reminded you of an Adams.

diamond cues rock!!

My first cue over 20 years ago was a diamond and it was 250 wholesale. Bob hunter ran over a hundred in a straight pool the first time he used it and thought it was a joss! I still have it and the best of the players I know want it because it hits like one of the best!!
Helmstetter bought out diamond about 15 or 20 years ago and kept some designs cause diamond had some beautiful designs and beauty rings.
I've been offered thousands for mine and won't take it. It looks close to new never been refinished and has the 2 priginal pro taper shafts that had to be special ordered back then.

Its rare to find anyone that knows the brand anymore but its certainly a well made stick and plays better than most pricey sticks made today.

Thank you to all who responded. I'd never heard of Diamond Cues before. I was quite impressed by the solid feel and look of the cue. The points are very sharp the veneers and inlays are perfect and the finish still looks like new. The wrap is the original green / white and looks great. The shaft is perfectly straight. For a 24 or 25 year old cue this one looks awesome. I shot a rack with it and although the weight is a bit heavier than I personally like, it hit very nicely and with very little squirt. All in all a darned nice cue.

I just noticed this thread - I'm answering this just to put it on the record in case future info is needed.

Andy Diamond was a long time employee of Palmer in New Jersey. He quit Palmer in 1985 and went to work for Adam Cues. These are a line designed by Andy but if you look closely at the design you will see other cue maker's influences (!) - all with Adam (Helmstetter) components.

He marketing his own line of "Diamond Cues" without much success - but they were all built by Adam in Japan and sold here by him from his New Jersey office. This was in 1985 for a year or two.

Adam Cues/Dick Helmstetter were very creative in their marketing of cue lines - they rebranded a lot of cues back then - some were actually scandals ala Robert Weir. Adam made both the PB and PM line of Palmer cues too.

By the way, Adam cues were probably the best cue you could get for the money in 1985. I only paid $100 for a rosewood full splice 4 pointer back then and used it for nearly 20 years.
