Diamond Pro-am Tournament size

Hello,
Just wondering if Mechanics have experience room dimensions, and I should go with? Tournament size(4.5x9) or Barbox(3.5x7)

I have a room that is just shy of 18'.
17' 8" at the tighest part.(212 inches roughly)

I was told a Pro-am is 41/2'x9' is 50"x100" but add 7 inches for rails.
Therefore 64" x 114" , so I am afraid the room is possibly to tight for this table?

Should I just let go of getting a 4 1/2 x 9 footer. I have read, and a lot of the MFG's state, that you need at least 14'x18' to play comfortably around a full size table.

Yeah, if the cue ball is right near the rail and you're shooting fairly straight, you'll be a little tight with a 9' table.

If you want to play on a 9' you're going to feel pretty silly playing a tiny little 7'er. At least consider an 8.

A lot of people will choose to fit a 9 even in a smaller room because nothing else will play the way they want, and have a stubby stick on hand if there are any tight spots.

You don't have to add for the width of the rails, your cue ball only fits in the playfield so the rail width doesn't affect your stroke length.

You're so close to the minimum size it's really only up to you which compromises are the most acceptable.

Some pool players use a 58"cue-
My suggestion is that you go with the 9 foot table and get a 52" cue "mcdermott" makes a nice 52" cue... A one piece 52 inch cue is all you will need if you want to go that route if in a tight spot with a buckled budget.

You will be a little short on space for a 9' table(if you really don't want to worry about bumping the wall on certain shots). There are some fantastic oversize 8' tables that you might look into. There are some 8' oversize Diamond Pro's out there, Gold Crowns,Anniversaries and Centennials(Brunswick) that are awesome playing tables. I personally have an oversize 8' Anniversary for sale that has 4 1/2" pockets which plays great.
