Give me your method for safely removing feather strips. Are the strips Diamond specific or are suitable replacements available through billiard suppliers?

Diamond feather strips are not bad to remove. Start pulling the cloth out from any corner pocket, pulling at about a 45 degree angle to the feather strip and the corner pocket. If you need to replace a broken feather strip, just about any store bought feather strip will work, but you may have to shape to fit with a small hand plane block, as you would any other feather strip as not all feather strip grooves are the same. All good technicians should carry a small hand plane block just for these occasions.

Thanks, Glen

A block plane is a good idea, not to mention I've other household projects that could be served by such an item. So what you're suggesting is that pulling on the cloth will be sufficient to pop up the strip without the use of any tool(s). It's been quite a few years since I've done this and wasn't sure if the Diamond had any unusual charactaristics. Figured you would know.

You're welcome, and just for information purposes, Craftsman makes the best tool there is for cuting off the ends of the feather strips, it's one of their cutters with either a 2" blade in it, or a 3" blade. You can use it for cutting a lot of other things as well, like facings, hoses, rose bushes, sticker bushes...LOL
