Diamond Table Question

Have a red lable Diamond Professional and am going to the new style pocket that wont mark the balls. Just wondering if its possible to change out the pockets without removing the rails from the table.

Not if they are installed correctly. You need to unscrew the leather pocket tabs, then remove the rail bolts. You can then flip over the entire top assembly. At that point it is easier if you remove the skirts. At that point you have full access to the pockets. Each pocket will have 4 screws you need to remove before tapping them out. Then just repeat the process when assembling.

What's the going rate on the new style pockets?

What are these skirts you mention?

I will look at my table when I get home. I have the red label Diamond Pro also....

The new style pockets won't stop your ball marking . The leather around the top stays the same and that is what marks your balls . You would have to go with unstained leather on top to stop the ball marking completely.

if afffordable i would consider changing the rails to the blue label type when you change the pockets

I stand corrected. I was told today that if you have a really long Philips bit extension, or screw driver, you can possibly reach all 4 of the screws which hold the pockets in place. It may be worth a try. You might have to bend the plastic pocket a little to gain access to those 2 back screws.

May be worth a try.
