Is there a big difference in the Diamond Professional and The Pro-Am? Are the pockets cut different pr is the playability different in any way? I am looking at buying a 9', but don't know why there is a price difference.

thanks,

There is almost no difference between the two tables in as far as the rails go, but that's it. The pocket cuts are identical with both tables, the rubber is Artimus, the leather pockets are the same. The rail side skirts are a little longer on the professional rails as opposed to the ProAm rails.

Now for some of the main differences.

A) The ProAm uses a 1" one piece full size slate, meaning the same 107" by 57" dimensions as that of a 3 piece slate. The Professional uses a 30mm(1 3/16") 3 piece slate.

B) The ProAm incorporates a if you'll excuse the term, "uni-body" type of body to construct the frame of the table, meaning that the table is already fully assembled, slate and all when it leaves the factory. The Professional is completely disassembled and has to be fully assembled at the final location.

C) The ProAm incorporates an internal ball return system, the fastest in the industry I might add, whereas the Professional uses an external ball return system if ordered separately.

D) The Professional can be installed in almost any location, whereas the ProAm is very limited to certain installations because of its weight being 1,300lbs in one piece.

E) In any installation that a ProAm table can be used, that is always my first choice because of the time frame in setting up the table, and because there is no slate seams to have to deal with. So, personally I prefer the ProAm's over the Pro's.

The main difference between the two tables when it comes to pricing is because though they're both Diamond tables, they are constructed differently therefor there is a cost difference between the two tables.
