Diamondback Irish Linen Wrap Cleaner

Has anybody used this to clean their wrap? I know that getting a wrap wet can make it sticky and possibly ruin it.

FWIW, I know nothing about their products.

However, I do know a top player in the process of suing them. They offered a sponsorship, the player made it on TV wearing their patch. They never paid the player a dime. I'd have been pissed too.

I've heard similar stories from others too. I think I'd find some one else to give my money.

It appears the previous owner of one of my Schon cues liked fried food while playing. The linen is a bit sticky. I tried taking some wax paper and rubbing the wrap. I helpped a little but still seems a bit sticky.

I wonder if the carpet cleaner suggestion would work.

Wrap needs to have spray starch applied and lightly pressed while wet. then lightly pressed again when dry. This has worked for me. Takes away most discoloration and leaves the wrap with no tacky feel. FWIW

It is about time a pro player got stung a little. They have been ripping off cuemakers for many many years. They ask for a cue with the promise to play with it and as soon as they get it they sell it and keep the money.

Don't give your cues away.
Never had that happen to me, been here for many many years, had plenty of real pro's playing with m cues, just need to watch who you GIVE a cue to.

How do you press it?

This has to be done while the cue is spinning. Prather and Atlas have a wrap press you can buy. I myself made a press. Made from two aluminum rods for handles and two aluminum brackets with nylon rollers. I have also heard of someone scotch guarding the lighter colored wraps to help prevent stains or discoloration. I myself have not done this so i dont know how well it works.
