"Diamondized" Gold Crown II

I recently had the pleasure of setting up a Gold Crown II for fellow AZ member "Snipershot".

Joe requested 4.5" corners, 5" sides, and wanted the table "Diamondized". In other words, changing the corner pocket angles to 141 deg. with 15 deg. down angle, and side pockets at 102 deg. I also added 3/16" neoprene facings, new Diamond K55 cushions, and Simonis 860 HR in Tournament Blue.

Joe got a great deal on the table and it was in excellent condition. I was surprised to find that the table still had the original rail cloth on it!

I was able to play on the table for a few hours after it was finished and it plays fantastic! Joe put a lot of work into converting an old garage into a pool room for his new table, and I'm glad I had the opportunity to help out a fellow AZ'er!

I would also like to thank John Burns (scruffy1) for hooking me up with some sweet drop pockets and Diamond cushions for this table. John went out of his way to make sure I got the rubber in time and was a pleasure to do business with! Thanks also to my partner Todd (Qaddiction) for assisting on the install.

Sweet looking table. Noticed the dremel in background, do you use that for your cushions?

Very clean rail work...great job on the cloth as well.
No difference than the last rail work you showed...all your work looks good.

For a non-machanic, would it be easier to just purchase one ready-made subrail from bestbilliard.com for $29 and cut up the 12 pieces needed to extend subrails? Or would it be too difficult to make sure all 12 pieces are the same width?

that's an interesting idea ....i think it would work but you would need a chop saw and you would need to know the exact angle that you need to cut it to get the correct angle in the pocket. he shows how to do it here .....http://www.bestbilliard.com/resources/buildtable/cuttingRails.cfm

not really something i would tackle ...

didn't know they sold those ...but sure enough...

i would just make sure that they cut the right profile for your table as i think he builds to a k66 profile...
