MANILA – More than 45 countries have committed to participate in an inaugural world pool team event slated next year in Germany.
According to the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA), the 1st World Team Championship in Pool will be held in Hannover, Germany from Jan. 30 to Feb. 7, 2010.
The event will feature 8-ball, 9-ball and 10-ball competitions. Its total prize money is $400,000.
The tournament will be promoted by Base Events Europe with the help of the German Billiards Union.
Each country is allowed to field one team composed of four to six players.
The Philippine team will be chosen by the Billiards and Snooker Congress of the Philippines (BSCP) under its president Sebastian “Baste” Chua.
