Did this ever happen to you???

It's happened to me on an 8ft Brunswick with plastic pockets (similar to what they are playing on).

Except when I did it, the ball went into the pocket, back up, and off the table.

Yes, playing 10 ball and the match would have been hill/hill if I made the Ten ball. Had to hit a bank shot with a bad angle which would most likely double hit. So I hit a hard draw shot to shorten up the angle and avoid a double hit. The ten ball hit the center of the side pocket (leather) and popped out. Worse yet, it stayed in front of the hole.

Yes. some tables have bad pockets that does this. Whenever we play on a table like that we set a rule at the beginning that if the ball does that it counts as being pocketed.

I don't see how it can not be counted as in even in a pro event. The shot was clearly made and is in the pocket. Outside of an equipment flaw the ball should not pop back out.

This usually happens with leather pockets and more often when they are not angled properly. I've lost matches where I'd make a shot center pocket and have it pop out.

I will see if the players will go along with that rule that if the ball hits inside the pocket and bounces out due to the table setup it should count as being in.

Seeing this happen is like seeing a good break fail to make the 3 balls past the string rule due to collisions or hitting a point.

Yep..happened to me playing on a Valley bar table. I shouldn't have been such a wiseass by shooting hard. It should have been an easy table speed game ending shot.

Playing snooker, shot the black to a corner pocket.
It went in and out, and rolled across the table to reside in the centre pocket on the opposite side of the table.

I claimed that, since I had pocketed the ball twice with a single shot, I had scored 14 points.
Did not go over well with my competition. :D

Breaking 8 ball rack on a BB. Broke and whitey flew into the corner pocket behind the rack and promptly hopped back out as the 8 ball rolled in on the break.
