DigiCue integration with DigiBall

I’ve updated the app to integrate the DigiCue with the DigiBall, as an optional setting. Below are two screen shots, one with a major swerve to the right on the forward stroke, the other not so much. The green line drawn in the ball target area shows the tip movement before it contacts the ball (yellow circle is the tip outline, 11.8mm in this case, and the smaller yellow circle is the exact tip contact point).

A neat combination of data.

Does it work with the original Digicue or the Digicue Blue?
DigiCue Blue only.

No mobile app will ever work with the original DigiCue because it does not have any wireless connectivity hardware, and is impossible to add.

I always felt the original Digicue was innovative and could become the best training aid imaginable.
It had some issues like with any radically new product and the marketplace is not usually patient.

Ultimately, an endorsement from a widely respected billiards expert like Dr. Dave would catapult it
to being in demand by amateur players. Digicue/ball might provide too much data for some of us.

The real merit of its potential is seeing it illustrated and explained in a demonstration like all the other
instruction videos on YouTube. Nonetheless, until it occurs, everyone should remain very open minded.

Most of everyone's comments are based off of a few pictures and my descriptions, and assumptions / speculations of what they imagine the product does. I think that once some comprehensive videos are made, the pool of willing adapters will grow quickly. Unintended pun, but I'll keep it.

Aditionally, I know most people have no idea of how much work it takes to make and launch niche electronic wireless products, solo. Constructive criticism is always helpful; general negativity can be energy draining. I'll be back after I take a mental break and until then everyone can reach me personally at nataddrho@digicue.net or on Reddit.

Cheers

IMO, you are pioneering and advancing a modern day approach to pool training methods.
You often hear people refer to the feel of a pool cue when it’s mostly just one’s subliminal
connection to the cue in question. Quantifying and exploring why you like that particular
cue requires information about the cue’s construction. That’s the key term….information.

Digicue/ball will provide information not previously available to pool players. You will derive
important data and feedback that can help you try fixing any flaws in the pursuit of a better,
dependable pool stroke for a variety of different type shots. If you know what you did not do,
then you you know how to try changing and improving what you really want to achieve. Data
is the key…empirical information…objective analysis. I look forward to trying this DigiCue/Ball.

Will the app work with the digicue and ball so each is shown for feedback, or are they separate functions.
The DigiBall app will show DigiBall and DigiCue information on the same screen. Data is all saved to a file so you can export it and do whatever else you want with it. I am hoping that the open-source community will take this and make some additional cool platforms with it.

Is there expected release date, have a digicue ,which has helped improve stroke .I can not wait to purchase a digiball

Ordered the Digicue blue just minutes ago off of the everything store. Really looking forward to this and more so, the Digiball with the Blue!

The reason. I found myself, this week, chicken winging again. I started working on getting that elbow more inline and sure as $hit my distance shots improved. Which got me thinking about my stroke etc.

Being old with no aspiration’s, I am not going to take the time to find an instructor and for the $ it seemed a reasonable investment. I figured I would spend at least the cost of a Digicue & Ball in instruction and for me possessing the tech was a better investment.

I am looking forward to see how bad my stroke is and working on improvement. I will report back with my experience and I hope you ordered a ton of Digiballs because I know I want to be one of the first and I am not alone.

Thanks for your innovation and tenacity!

Great! I hope it helps you.
What you are buying with these products is really “validation”. Try different things and it’ll tell you if you are on the right track. The trade off is that while a coach can show you a lot of important things, you need to travel and spend money and you only have a few hours of interaction . The DigiCue/Ball is like a measuring tape, and though it won’t tell you the cause of problems, it can shine a flashlight on them, and you have unlimited time to use it at your leisure.
