I contacted Dinko via email and was in the process of finalizing a custom order to be placed. Then I stumbled upon this Dinko 2x4 for sale here at AZB and bought it instead of enduring the wait for several months. The previous owner only had it 2 months and hadn’t used it much, so it was in mint condition.

Ostrich body and lid, accented by full grain Italian leather hand dyed by Dinko. Saddle stitching done by hand which keeps the case intact in the event a stitch gets cut. Lined tubes, brass hardware and feet, with locking latch/key. Detachable strap with ostrich on outer face and memory foam pad covered in black suede. Ostrich accessories bag attached to the strap. Subtle shell tooling on the edges of the Italian full grain leather accenting the ostrich main body. Heavy duty blanket like dust cover with leather strap and retainer.

I’m truly amazed at this gentleman’s work. It’s truly a functional piece of art. Attention to detail, immaculate fit and finish, genuine exotic hide accented by full grain Italian leather, hand dyed, hand stitched, quality brass hardware, just enough tooling to accent it without it being overdone. This is old world craftsmanship that’s difficult to find in this day and age.

As amazing as his work is, Dinko’s also an amazing guy. I contacted him to let him know I’d found and purchased this case and therefore I wouldn’t be placing the custom order we had been communicating about. He was extraordinarily gracious. Instead of being upset that I wasn’t going to follow through on the custom order we were finalizing, he told me that it was no big deal, congratulated me on finding a unique piece of his work and was genuinely happy that I admired his work. He said he’d just sold this case to its original owner 2 months ago so it should be mint, but that if there were any scratches or damage, that he’d be happy to help me in rectifying it. That if I had any issues with the case in the future, to feel free to contact him and he would help in any way he could. I’ve owned a lot of different cases in the last 50 years by some of the most celebrated case makers, both past and present, and Dinko’s work is right there at the top. As he described it, a case that will truly last a lifetime. From the quality of his craftsmanship, to the quality of his character, Dinko, and his cases, are truly one of a kind.
