disc/belt sander question

Does anybody know of a small disc/belt sander combo with a fence on the side(length of the belt) instead of the end on the belt part of the sander? The only one I can find is a china special and I just can't buy cheap tools. I've searched everywhere and can't find one. Or does everybody modify theirs to accept a fence on the side? Thanks in advance.

See Chris Hightower's book

I've never seen one that has a side fence built-in, but I imagine you could find one if you have enough money.

It's not that difficult to add a fence to a standard (cheap) belt sander. Drill and tap a couple of holes in the side, mount upright supports on the side and a sliding fence on top.

BTW, you'll still want the fence on the end.....unless you want to shoot stuff around the shop:p

The China specials are fine for truing up Point stock. Very few power tools are made here in the states. Grizzly has some in the few hundred dollar range that everyone I have heard of is happy with for squaring up point stock.

Did you build a fence on yours or did it come with a fence for squaring up point stock? I bought one of the older cheap Delta ones and built my own fence.
