I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned it. It's not only NOT time to quit, it's time to buckle-down and put more table time in! LOL
Actually, I think many of us have went through times where we all of a sudden we found ourselves missing the game ball too often.
When a few of our league members practice, one guy always wants to give the other player the "easy" game ball. The problem is, if someone gets used to never shooting the 8-ball (in this case), then has to do it in a money game, league match, or tournament -- guess what, you're brain is going to start to see that something is different...
The one suggestion that I read that I agree with is when shooting the game ball, to always pick a place where you want the cue ball to land and try to get position like you do with every other shot on the table. Other than that, the extra pressure of the game ball is probably just exerting it's influence on you.
