Got a couple that bought back in 2008, wondering if tips that are unused have a shelf life versus tips that gets used.

leather can dry and get old .... i have several old tips and use them. also you have to consider the glue used on layered tips ... sometimes old glue can cause delamination, but really i never had an issue.

As I’ve stated before, I keep my ready to install tips in a small cigar humidor. Leather can dry out over time, a lot depends on the humidity where they are stored. Why take the chance when a small humidor cost me just a little more than a new Kamui?

I love this idea, it makes so much sense.

Leather will dry out over time. What kind of Kamui tips are we talking about?

The black clears. They have plastic caps on both ends and the sides are burnished, i think these would stay good for many years like this.

Howdy All;

Just my thought, Most things that are "made" (glue), will have a "Shelf-Life".
So, to me, a laminated tip will only be so good for only so long whereas a
solid tip, who knows. Depends on usage and care routine.
