Do Players See Pool... ?

Yes this is the way I see it as ball placement, Thats why I see about 6% positive... Guy
Jump cues are highly effective in limited situations. Better to be caught with than without.
You put yourself at way more of a disadvantage if your opponents have/can use one and you don't.

I change up the nomenclature based on my opponent.
Sometimes the balls are solids and stripes, other times, big ones and little ones.

Try fat stripes and skinny stripes.

See, it's a white ball with a fat purple stripe going around it.

I took a class in probability many years ago and I think it went something like this.
I can make a shot 80% of the time. The probability of making 3 balls in a row is, ( .8 x .8 x .8 ), 51%

Do Players See Pool In Percentages, Nomenclature And All ... ?

If my opponent is a strong shot maker, he's going to see the best safety play of all time.

I stand a better chance with ball in hand.

For some reason that works.

No, players see a variety of shots available to them, and calculate percentages of a) making the shot, b) getting position, c) leaving the CB safe. Then once those percentages are contemplated, the player chooses a shot and then executes said shot without thinking about it any longer.
