Do you define value in your Pool equipement?

I do something with my Pool equipement and just got to wondering if other players do it also. After I have bought some type of equipement for Pool, be it a cue, jump cue, b/j cue, case, or even tip tools, or cue holder, and have used it enough to know, I assign a value to it.
I try to be realistic and I like to get 'bang for my buck', plus it is good feedback to myself on my
research methods before I buy.
For instance, I purchased a J&J break/jump cue off Ebay for $44.90 (with shipping), received it,
played with it, inspected the quality, hit, etc.,
and determined the value to be about $225.
I also purchased a 3 x 5 Action Elite ELN35 case for 79.20 with free shipping, inspected it, used it, evaluated it, and determined value to be $175.
I got a $1,100 custom Shurtz cue, that I determined the value to me is $1400-1500.
I guess you could just call it a 'Satisfaction value'. It is only an internal rating thing for myself, but find it provides good feedback to myself, sort of like comparing 'projected' vs. 'actuals'.
Do you guys do this with your equipment?

Well, I've had associates that have done business with Judy from J & J...they are strickly Chinese made what-have-you and they're probably worth what you paid....not $225.00...sorry...

The value of my equipment is the ammount I am willing to let it go for.

I never think about the value to much. The only new stuff I bought in the last year or so was a Cuetec B/J for $130.00. I think about my stuff in a different way, like wich one do i like the best for 1P or 9Ball or 8Ball or Bar box 8. And i take that one with me when i leave the house. I have a old Palmer in my Jay Flowers case that is probably worth a some money, but i love it and would never sell it, so i dont think of it in terms of what it is worth. I do the same with my Bass Guitars and Amps. and i have allot of those.:)

Now the Hot Wheel collection is a different story. I do allot of research to determine the value of each car. I have a dozen book's and value guides on them.:)

If you are knocking the jump break cue that J and J puts out Im going to have to disagree. that has to be the best jump break cue out there in that price range. Hell it even competes with the higher end Jump Break cues with a price that has no comparison. I picked mine up straight from J and J for 70 bucks. Plus the fantastic custom service they had makes it even better.

I guess I would pay up to 200 dollars for this cue if I saw it in the store and was in the market for a Jump Break and there were no cheap alternatives. Snapshot is right, it is a great cue and it cant be beat for the price.

along the lines of the thread topic though...

No I normally dont do that, I just keep it at what I paid for it unless it goes up in value than I assign it that value.
