Do you envision a future where our shafts won't get wood?

I overheard a few well-to-do, inebriated fellas 'discussing' new shafts and shaft material. They all use standard maple shafts as do I.
They tended to agree that by the spring of '18 there'll be a Revo 2 retailing for about $650 and will be better than the Revo. They also toasted to the even better Revo 3 coming out for Christmas of '18 @ about $900 including a spare tip.
The arguing started when they couldn't agree if there would be a Revo 4 or if execs would retire the "Revo" name and just come up with a complete new name for 2019.

I am more of a fan of its smoothness through my bridge hand more than anything else. In addition no q-whiz pads. No waxes. No polishers. No gloves, no powder. Playing in places with no central ac can be an issue with wood shafts. I never bought mine giving deflection a consideration.
