Do you get offended when someone asks to play rack your own....

I'm with the majority of the posters here. I wouldn't be offended; in fact, it'd be rather pleasant if my opponent requests to rack our own.
 
I don't mind racking the balls myself, but people always seem to argue with me (e.g. in 8 ball: stripe-solid racking or stripe and solid in each corner) or people don't rack over the spot; they'll visibly rack a half ball behind the spot or even a full ball behind it. I'll tell them "Hey, it's not on the spot," and this "broski" looking guy wearing his bedazzled Ed-Hardy t-shirt will say, "IT DOESN'T MATTER, BRO." I'll never rack for these kinds of people. Also they don't understand the importance of a tight rack so they'll always half-assedly rack the balls.

So to avoid arguments, I just say "rack your own" with these certain players. Sorry if you get offended. :sorry:
 
I prefer opponent racks. For the reason of a possible fixed rack, or numerical rack,in favor of them,if they were to rack their own.

Maybe being paranoid , but I kinda want to have control of the rack to some degree ,when my opponents breaking..

Rack your own does have some pluses in matching up or tournament play. You can give yourself a tight rack all the time. Your opponent can still inspect and ask for a rerack.

One of my favorite shots at the table is when my opponent asks for a rerack and I tell them if they want it reracked they may do it. And, then I make the 9 on the break.

All to often I see old players checking racks as if they could see the gaps. Most of these old coots... need glasses to read and expect me to believe they can see GAPS. What a crock. Bums all of them. It's all a move that was taught to them when they were young to get a small advantage of getting into (sharking) their opponents head.

Offended? never.
