Do you have a problem with playing against members of the opposite sex

Just wondering if your a guy playing against a women or a women playing against a guy. Do you feel that you play at your best or do you have a tendency to not play as strong as you think that you should just because your playing a member of the opposite sex ?
If so, do you think it's cost you matches, tournaments etc. ?
Anybody got any stories?

I've never had a problem playing women whatsoever. ... but a few guys on my former team seemed to have that problem, so I guess it's somewhat common

I`ve got an older fellow (75) yrs old. If he`s playing a girl that has a rack on her, he`s pretty much putty in her hands, so to speak. We always tease the crap out of him as well.
Great post JE54 Rep coming your way.

Girl Poolplayers

I usually don't play girls because I am a serious poolplayer, but if I do, and they act like a girl instead of being a poolplayer, then yes I have trouble playing them or being serious when I play.

And I am not out to screw some girl when I play Pool, I am out to play Pool.

As long as we both were completely nude I can't see what difference it would make at all.

I've been distracted once by a female I was playing. In my defense, she was super hot. I often feel bad about beating girls in league, just because I was raised to always be a gentleman to the ladies, and I was taught that it is considered good manners to allow girls to win (when on a date, or just playing something for fun). That mentality has carried over into pool a little, and even though I never apologize for winning, I have occasionally felt bad about it.

No problem

I played a girl last night in 9 ball and the only thing that made it a little weird is she is a close friend of mine. I sometimes get distracted when playing against a close friend during a league match, or feel bad if I get a couple lucky rolls in a row. It's all good though I won last night and that didn't feel weird at all.:D

Only if they cry, when I beat them!!!!!!

Nah, I don't have much of a problem playing a female. I've been beaten my some and I've beat quite a few.

I was even called a sandbaggin SOB by one.

When I started playing pool at fifteen one of the few places I could play was the local naked dancing lady bar. It was also the closest place to me. A mile and a half from where I lived, a few hundred yards from where I worked. I was in there most nights. The best pool player I knew for the first few years was also the hottest dancer in the place when she worked there. She was close to shortstop speed without distractions; she had a lot of "distractions". When you can fade all of that at fifteen or sixteen playing females just never seems like a big deal.

It all depends on how often I want to see her bend over.

edit - I should add a serious thing here I guess :)
No issues playing with women as far as letting up on my game, although I have a hard time watching them shoot because I feel odd looking at them, makes me feel like they are thinking I'm just oogling their bodies and not actually watching the game.

I don't have a problem playing women at all. What I do have a problem with is having to give a game(s) on the wire to masters level players because they're women.

Otherwise they're just players with sticks.

I play in Myrtle Beach and as you can imagine, some simply awesome looking females play in these tournaments .Being married for 20yrs helps, and having an 18 yr old daughter who I might add graduates from high school on Saturday.keeps me on the business end of things. When I go to a tournament I am going to give it 100% from the first break until it is over,it has my undivided attention .I do not like to lose any game or miss any ball. They do not get special treatment, just some one else trying to beat me.No shame in this game lol

Distraction

I have missed some shots on the 9-ball when the hot babe approaches the table just as I'm shooting.
I've had women shark me, apologize for it and then shark me again.
It is distracting, but I typically try to play my best.
I feel bad playing a safety or a 2-way shot on a chick, but everytime I don't they step up and win.
Several of the women I play against in various leagues know what they are doing, play very conservatively, and they're trying to win just as hard as I am.
If you get overly aggressive or ease up, they will find a way to win.
There are a lot of good women players out there.

When I was younger it may have been an issue, but nowadays I play against the table. I don't care who I'm playing against, it's just me vs. the table when it's my turn.
