do you play with your expensive cues or just collect them and play with mid range cue

Can you imagine buying an expensive custom cue and not playing with that cue for years, maybe decades?

Seems like a pretty dumb thing to do unless you intend to just sell the cue and hope to make a huge profit to justify the money, time & effort.

I don't care whom the cue-maker is.....George, Gus, Tim, Danny, Ernie.....doesn't matter. There are no guarantees that the cue this heralded cue-maker made for you plays great. And can you imagine what a compete ass one would feel like if 10-15 -20 years after saving this special cue unplayed, you use it for the first time at some special occasion and it isn't what you hoped for.

Remember looks alone do not make a great cue otherwise it wouldn't be called a pool cue and instead, it'd be called art and just hang on the wall. But hey, to each their own and keep in mind some people collect rare, expensive sports cars that they never drive.

Cars are meant to be driven....cues are meant to be played.... and money is meant to be spent ....so I suppose in the final analysis it all works out.

Matt

p.s. And I know I have really great hitting cues...every single cue.......because I play with every cue I own and so it's not just my supposition or presumption on my behalf either.
