Does anyone recognize this Maker/Cue?

Picked this up online, it was a storage unit find and the auction house knew zip about it. I thought it was a Joss from the points, butt, and overall design but I was wrong...

Any help would be appreciated.

looks like a generic asian import cue.

looks like a generic asian import cue.
So modern "Generic Asian Import Cues" are decals, not actual inlays. This is real inlay work. Modern "Generic Asian Import Cues" that have real inlays always have makers' logos under the veneer with kickass names like Ripper, Destroyer, and such. This does not have that...

Vintage "Generic Asian Import Cues" which had real inlays tend to be sloppy on inlays, points never line up, and ring work is pretty crap. So even if it's Asian, which it very well could be it's not vintage... And the work is actually, really nice.

It could be a Filipino cue but usually, those are all radial pins.

The steel collar is a bit of a mystery but I have Hueblers and a Mali that have almost the exact same style joint from the 90's. But I don't think/feel it's that old.

lots of asian imports are like this. universal, kaokao, kaofa, kps(Falcon parent co) all have made thousands of cues like this. most generic asian cues made in last 20yrs or so are all pretty well made.

Pretty much nothing of that is correct.

I have east asian generic and branded cues, all of which are piloted steel 5/16×18; except my Helmstetter which is 5/15×14.

I keep an eye out for east asian, and I do not remember ever seeing that pin

Good Work! My guess before seeing the weight bolt was that this cue was one of Dale Perry’s early E Bay cues!

Ok, please expand.
Glad you found it. Back to Asian stuff, there are at least half a dozen factories in Taiwan/Mainland making top-quality cues. The TaiCan/Universal plant makes ADAM, Predator,Dufferin, Players,Buffalo,Lucasi and others. Up to 40,000/month in that one plant. Not all asian cues are lo-end decal cues. They buy good wood and have hi-end CNC equip and can make nice stuff. It all depends on what the dealer wants to sell, lo-end or top quality.

My guess when this copying other cues began probablyin the early sixties.
It was then I saw my first knock off Rambow.
New ones were $80 knock offs were about $40.

I 100% agree with you, and honestly, I don't lump ADAM into that category. And there are also a dozen amazing custom makers creating cues that are insane in both beauty and complexity.

I love my true Generic Asian Impost cues and have five Orchid's and eight Cobra's which I would not sell or trade for anything.

But sadly that term has become more representative of all the crap cues you can buy on Amazon. Alibaba, and Temu which are for the most part kindling...

Here's some ADAM-Japan cues. AFAIK these folks in NY are only place to get ADAM-JP cues. https://adam-ny.com/product/kenbu/ Can also order Musashi from them. WAY more $$$.

Thank god I pulled the weight bolt and figured this shit out for myself... effing Asian import cues....

It's so small and barely visible that I missed it on the first go-round...
