Does cue brand matter?

So, I'm kind of new to playing pool. Recently I ordered a Viking pool cue with a Vikore shaft because I figure it will last me a while. So far I love it.

Now to my question. I'm looking at ordering a separate cue for breaking, and it has me wondering if the brand of stick really matters?

I was looking for suggestions. I'm not looking to spend a whole lot on the break cue. As of now I am looking at the Rage heavy hitter break cues because, I hear Rage makes good beginner cues for your money.

As long as your comfortable with it then your good to go. Sometimes
people think that getting a different cue will improve there game.
In some cases it may improve but many times I've seen it work the
opposite way and there game falters.
I've had a cue for years that was given to me because it was warped by a AZ
member years ago.I still pull that cue out and run racks with it.
The cue flipping is a hobby but if your serious about your game, stick with one
cue, get use to it and play with one only.Goodluck

Rage

You can't beat the Rage jump break cue for the price. IMHO.
Breaks well, and jumps easily.

J&J break or break/jump cues can be also a good choice, I tried one and it was OK, my advice is to get a 18-19 oz cue. A heavy cue is not for everybody.

I briefly owned a J&J. It did a good job of breaking and jumping, but I quickly found that I didn't like the 14mm shaft for breaking. Found a BK2 for a good price, and it's been much more comfortable to use a diameter closer to my playing cue. Did it have to be a Predator? Nope, but I had briefly used one in the past, and especially liked the weight/feel of it, so it's what I went on based on past experience.
