I just got a great deal on a 8' Gandy G, the table had been climate controlled since new and had never been re-clothed (its mint no issues). The coushins feed good, my plan is to pull the original facings and shim with a 1/4" shim to slightly tighten the wide pockets for now( I know this is not the best method). I am really looking onto doing sub-rail extensions after I feel out how the table plays. I feel i have a tight grasp on how to acomplish the task but my question is when the extension is added is it necesary to change the bevel or taper on the face angle?? My guess is that there is probably a point in which the contact area that you would want the pocketing ball to hit the face on a rail shot for perfect playability. If there is such a measurement or angle that works best (and does that angle change the tighter you make a pocket?) that is the information that would be of most interest to me.
Thanks

Short answer is YES, because there is always room for improvement. To what I can't say I am sure there are a couple mechanics here that will either do the work, or offer advice on best way to go about it.
