Does the DCC hold mini tournaments, and do the Pro's enter them?

I was at the DCC last year (just for a very short time), but I wish that I would have asked around about mini tournaments (like they have at the APA nationals for example).

I do not know, but I was thinking that maybe they held some mini tournaments (like $30 entry, single elimination for example), and maybe some of the Pro players would enter (just for practice).

I assume they do not hold mini tournaments (or it would have been on the online flyer), but does anyone think this would be a good idea?

I would have loved to enter the 9 ball (just for the experience), but did not have the money.

I hope that next year I will have the money to play in it (need to start saving for it).

I imagine that many players save all year long for the DCC (if they are low income, that is).

It is such an amazing experience for a person who loves the game of pool, and everything about it.

I think they have at least a mini one pocket tournament and if I recall correctly it starts VERY late like midnight or something like that.

Its been 3 years since I went, but they had mini tournaments in nine ball and bank also, starting at midnight. AND, yes, the pros enter them.

Yes, they have mini tournaments. This year's results are on the DCC website. The One-Pocket event was won by John Neels ($800) and the 9-Ball event by Can Salim ($800).

They don't run the type of mini tournaments you are talking about. They don't have the tables. They do run a couple of single elimination tournaments throughout the 10 days. In the past they have done a one handed one pocket and the one pocket ghost high run. The one pocket high run was a fun thing to watch. Pros rooting for each other, coaching, and talking some smack.
