Does this Schon cue have ivory inlays?

I've been trying to find details on this 2005 Schon CX-61, but google searches have not yielded anything. Do these inlays look like genuine ivory, plastic, or something else?

I believe I can see the patina lines, but not certain here.

IIRC they used ivory up until around 2015-ish so this could well be.

Maybe it is recon ivory like McDermott uses. I had a Bridgeport model that was expensive and believed it was ivory inlays only to find out some time later it was not solid pieces of ivory, but recon ivory, which I believe means reconstructed ivory.

Does recon ivory retain the Schreger lines / patina? I'd imagine those lines would disappear if the ivory was ground down and remolded like particle wood. I think I see those lines in the attached photo. My 2nd cue's inlays definitely have those lines present.

That's a cuestix international cue and I'd be terribly surprised to see one with ivory. They generally sport micarta. They were all made to retail and no way they built a bunch of them in various weights and stuff to retail, so if it had ivory it would be part of one of the custom lines, SPL or likewise and not a CX series at all. It's micarta.

I have a 1980's Meucci that uses mircata inlays, and the material does not look similar up close -- no lines, completely smooth:

Here is a genuine ivory inlay for comparison:

The lines look similar to the initial post image, hence the inquiry.

I did e-mail sales@schoncues.com (TY Mike Webb) and am awaiting an official reply.

A black light bulb from home depot will assist anyone trying to ascertain if it could be ivory.....it will fluoresce very brightly compared to other types of imitation ivory plastics.

I do have a small UV flashlight available, though I'm not sure if it is bright enough to differentiate between the inlay materials:

It almost looks like the Meucci's old finish is reacting to the UV light given its foggy appearance. However, the center (Schon) and right (Andy Gilbert) inlay images appear very similar under the same UV light source.

going by the pictures....which can be deceiving......the image on the right and maybe the center are ivory, but not the one on the left the meucci.

I thought the white inlays were always ivory until a certain year for a schon per Evan. Different cues but, in the late nineties I had 2 cues built.
The cuemaker said you might as well get ivory inlays because the price wouldnt be much different then plastic

When I originally read the FAQ on the CueStix website back in 2005, it mentioned that its Schon cues were made with the same materials and workmanship as other Schon's, but the designs were CueStix exclusives. Ivory was still readily available in 2005. I don't remember the exact price I paid, though I believe it was around $1200 to $1400. The CX61 is a long-discontinued model, and its old sales / brochure info has been thoroughly scrubbed from its old dealer sites.

Still no reply from sales@schoncues.com, but I'll update this thread once I get an answer.
