Sorry, but I have also played all over the country and been frequently shocked by the condition and playability of many tables.

Done. You can argue with somebody else over Christmas or perhaps you can go out there and gaffe up some tables. Maybe you can find a new chicken wing to rob, we know you don't have the heart to play anybody on your own $$$.

Brass Tap is a legit pool room that has numerous tournaments, big and small. Rail bolts can loosen up over time, but someone usually notices and reports a table with a dead rail or rails to the owner / manager.
Any experienced room owner / manager who is a player will periodically check every 3–4 months that the rail bolts are torqued properly on every table, even if the tables get recovered every year.

This thread prompted me to go get a torque wrench today and check/tighten the rail bolts as RKC told me to do. Table installed a few months ago so I am sure it settled in some. He installed it and had me torque the bolts the first time so I’d know. But I hadn’t done it until this thread. Thanks Oscar and Guama.
Well, all I know is that I have been in plenty of rooms across the country in which the owner, player or not has not kept the tables up.

So hearing about a table or two that has fallen into disrepair does not surprise me. Anyone who thinks they’re going to find pristine conditions out there is dreaming.
And, blaming any particular player for conditions at a room is out of line without specific evidence they purposely manipulated a table.
