That's weird.

A friend of mine has a Dominiak '001'. I have an '003' that's the same style inlays/points/etc as his '001'. Just different woods.

I'm wondering if the '001' and so on comes from a combination of the design AND the order they're made.

I'll have to see if I can get pics of his and my cue together.
 
My recollection was, this was the first cues when he started making cues... Or so he said... I almost bought a cue where the butt radial splices were separated by a thin piece of metal (but didn't have the $$$ at the time)... I thought it was either 003 or 004

The ones my buddy and I have are the 3/8x10 pin.

It was funny, I (and my buddy) actually won our Dominiaks in raffles, about five years apart. I shot with his a few times back then, and loved the feel of it. Vowed to get one for myself.

Fast forward five years, I win a different raffle, and the guy has about 8 or 9 DP's and the '003' Dominiak.

The choice was easy lol
